JFK Moment
I remember years ago people discussing JFK's assasination and how everybody can remember exactly what was happening at the time they heard the news about what happened.
Obviously I'm relating this to September 11th. It's hard to avoid. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say that I think 9/11 will be our JFK moment. I can remember exactly what happened that day and what I caught on television. I'm sure you guys remember too.
One thing I envy about the JFKers is that their event wasn't nearly politicized as much. JFK's assasination wasn't because of a blunder in national security or foreign affairs. People didn't bring it up 5 years later and say "We arn't any safer from rogue assasins than we were when it happened" etc. He was just considered a sort of hero and people were respectful weather or not he was the guy you voted for (That's my impression, I wasn't around. I can only imagine that if society had been as polarized and politicized as it is now, we would have blown ourselves up by now).
